Lindani Ndwandwa marks 15 years in South African fashion with NIVEA Black & White – celebrating personal style, creative evolution and the confidence behind every look

Fifteen years in fashion is about more than the looks that make it onto the runway. It is about evolution, instinct and the confidence to keep creating. For South African stylist Lindani Ndwandwa, that journey took centre stage at Black & White Meets Summer, presented in partnership with NIVEA Black & White.

Held at The View Boutique Hotel in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, the fashion experience marked 15 years of Lindani Styling while looking firmly towards its next chapter.

The collaboration found a natural meeting point between Lindani’s approach to personal style and NIVEA Black & White’s Own Your Moment campaign. Beyond the obvious visual language of black and white, both centre on an idea that resonates far beyond fashion: confidence starts before anyone else sees the finished result.

15 Years of Lindani Styling

For Lindani, Black & White Meets Summer was an opportunity to reflect on a career built around helping people express who they are through clothing.

The fashion story began with the timeless sophistication of black and white before transitioning into the colour, freedom and optimism associated with summer – a fitting metaphor for a stylist celebrating his past while embracing what comes next.

“For me, styling has always been about more than creating a look. It is about understanding who someone is and helping them feel confident in how they show up,” says Lindani Ndwandwa. “Fifteen years later, I am proud of how far I have come, but I am even more excited about where I am going.”

NIVEA Black & White creators Sipokhule N and Chad Jones joined the runway presentation, while Gina Koffmanhosted the experience. Music added another dimension to the celebration, with performances from Langa Mavuso and the SSM Music & Arts Soweto Orchestra.

Rather than simply looking back at 15 years of fashion, the occasion captured something more interesting: the evolution of personal style and the confidence required to continually reinvent it.

The Confidence Behind The Look

That message sits at the heart of NIVEA Black & White’s Own Your Moment campaign, which turns attention towards what happens before the polished outfit, photograph, performance or public appearance.

It is the preparation, work and self-belief behind those visible moments that ultimately allow people to step forward with confidence.

“Confidence does not suddenly appear when someone steps into the room. It is built in all the small, unseen moments that come before it,” says Yolanda Katsha, Brand Manager at Beiersdorf. “Own Your Moment recognises that journey and helps people feel protected, prepared and ready to show up as themselves.”

It is a sentiment that feels particularly relevant to fashion. The final look may be what the world sees, but personal style is often shaped by everything that happens before it – experimentation, preparation and the gradual understanding of what makes you feel most like yourself.

Owning The Moment

NIVEA Black & White extends that idea through a hero film featuring creators Sishi, Chad, CJ, FreshByCaddy and Sphokuhle N, who share the personal experiences that have shaped them and reflect on what it means to own their individual moments.

The campaign connects those stories with the everyday ritual of getting ready. NIVEA Black & White offers 72-hour sweat and odour protection, alongside anti-stain protection designed to help protect black clothing from white marks and white clothing from yellow stains. Its new fragrance collection also introduces scent into the preparation ritual.

It is a practical proposition wrapped around a more emotional one: feeling prepared can change the way you enter a room.

For Lindani Ndwandwa, 15 years in fashion proves that the most memorable style is rarely only about the clothes. It is about the person wearing them, the journey that brought them there and the confidence to step forward.

Black & White Meets Summer may have celebrated a milestone, but its strongest message was about what comes next – owning your style, embracing change and having the confidence to make the next moment your own.
