Africa’s biggest design event heads to Johannesburg following a successful Cape Town edition

After four inspiring days of creativity, innovation and design excellence in Cape Town, all eyes now turn to Decorex Joburg 2026, taking place from 30 July to 2 August at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The Cape Town edition once again reaffirmed why Decorex Africa remains the continent’s leading décor, design and lifestyle exhibition, bringing together leading brands, visionary designers, emerging makers and thousands of visitors passionate about beautiful living.

Now, Johannesburg is preparing to welcome the country’s most influential design showcase, promising even more inspiration for homeowners, architects, interior designers, developers and design enthusiasts.

Cape Town set the standard for design innovation

Visitors to Decorex Cape Town explored immersive installations, designer-led exhibitions and beautifully curated spaces that celebrated the future of African design.

Among the standout experiences was the Lexus VIP Lounge, alongside the thoughtfully designed Recharge Garage by Tshepo Sealetsa, where the all-electric Lexus RZ 450e was showcased within a calming, minimalist environment.

The popular Ten x Ten exhibition featured 100 exceptional design objects from across Africa and beyond, while 100% Local celebrated South African craftsmanship and innovation. Lighting installation FloodLight, created with acclaimed lighting designer Martin Döller, demonstrated the transformative power of light within contemporary interiors.

Visitors also embraced beautifully designed pause spaces including the Happinest Bubbly Bar, Klay Bistro, the 100% Design Restaurant by Loredana Morton Interiors and the Rialheim Café.

Interactive experiences and expert insights

Decorex Cape Town also delivered a packed programme of talks, demonstrations and hands-on experiences.

The Future Talks, presented by Oggie, brought together leading voices in architecture, interiors and design for thought-provoking discussions exploring the industry’s future.

Food lovers gathered at the @home Cooking Studio, where celebrated chefs including Zola Nene and Lerato Maleswena demonstrated how thoughtful kitchen design enhances everyday living.

Meanwhile, the Discovery Bank DIY Studio offered practical renovation advice, home décor inspiration and expert guidance on financing home improvement projects.

Shoppers also discovered independent designers and established brands at the ever-popular Capitec Design Market, taking home unique locally made pieces.
