Launched under the theme “From Roots to Revelation,” the Inverroche Bartender Competition is more than a showcase of mixology—it’s a movement. Furthermore, through immersive experiences and a progressive narrative, Inverroche cultivates a new generation of brand storytellers who embody the brand’s “By Nature” philosophy and commitment to conscious luxury.

Joburg Talent Takes the Lead in Inverroche Bartender Competition

Following a series of high-energy regional qualifiers held in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town from 20–22 October, the judges selected three standout bartenders from each city to advance. The Johannesburg regional qualifier, specifically hosted at Sin + Tax on 20 October, showcased incredible local talent.

Meet the Joburg finalists heading to the next phase:

  • Kelvin “KK” Mabaya – Sin + Tax
  • Devon Andreka – Obscura
  • Brent Davids – 11th Floor

These exceptional bartenders were evaluated on their use of Inverroche Amber Gin, creativity, presentation, taste, and storytelling flair. Crucially, each brought a unique interpretation of African inspiration, sustainability, and innovation to the bar, captivating both judges and guests with their craft.

Next Stop: Stilbaai and the Inverroche Bartender Competition Finale

The Top 9, including Joburg’s representatives, will now journey to the Inverroche brand home in Stilbaai from 10–12 November 2025 for an immersive bootcamp experience.

During this time, they will deepen their understanding of Inverroche’s heritage, participate in sustainability workshops, and craft cocktails inspired by the golden hues of the African sunset.

The competition will culminate in a spectacular finale on 18 November 2025, right here in Johannesburg. Consequently, the finalists will present their signature Inverroche Amber creations to a panel of esteemed judges, including Inverroche’s founder, Lorna Scott.

Ultimately, one bartender will earn the title of official House of Amber Bartender, earning a cash prize and a feature in the Inverroche cocktail book. Learn more about Inverroche from their website at www.inverroche.com
