Meet the International DJs Headlining fabric South Africa 2027
Daniel Avery – A South African Debut Worth Waiting For
British producer and DJ Daniel Avery has been a defining presence in electronic music for more than a decade. Known for his atmospheric productions and genre-blurring sound, Avery has built an international following through releases such as his acclaimed Drone Logic album.
His relationship with fabric London dates back many years, including the release of FABRICLIVE 66 in 2012. His music moves between driving techno, hypnotic house and experimental electronic sounds.
January 2027 will mark Avery’s first performance in South Africa, making the upcoming shows particularly significant for his local fans.
“My first time in South Africa and what better way than with the fabric family. I’ll see you down the front,” says Avery.
Desiree – A South African Star Returns Home
South African-born DJ and producer Desiree brings a special homecoming element to the Johannesburg line-up.
Having established herself within London’s competitive electronic music scene, Desiree has become known for her distinctive approach to house and techno. Her sets combine diverse musical influences, reflecting both her South African roots and international experience.
Through her MMINO platform, she continues to champion her creative vision while building connections across the global electronic music community.
Her appearance at Carfax marks a welcome return to Johannesburg, where fans will have an opportunity to experience one of South Africa’s internationally recognised electronic music talents.
HAAi – Breaking Boundaries in Electronic Music
Australian-born, London-based DJ and producer HAAi has earned a reputation for challenging traditional genre boundaries.
Her energetic sets move effortlessly between house, techno, breaks and experimental electronic music, creating unpredictable and immersive dancefloor experiences.
A familiar name at fabric London, HAAi has become one of contemporary electronic music’s most exciting performers.
The January events will mark her South African debut, introducing local audiences to her adventurous sound and dynamic performance style.
Midland – The Art of the Unexpected
British DJ and producer Midland is celebrated for his eclectic selections and ability to move between musical styles.
From house and techno to electro and unexpected underground discoveries, his sets reflect an extensive knowledge of electronic music and an instinctive understanding of the dancefloor.
A longstanding fabric favourite, Midland released FABRICLIVE 94 in 2017, further cementing his relationship with the London institution.
His performances in Johannesburg and Cape Town will mark his first appearances in South Africa, adding another highly anticipated debut to the weekend.
Heidi – A Pioneer of House and Techno
Joining the Cape Town event is internationally respected DJ Heidi, whose influence on house and techno extends across several decades.
From her early involvement with London’s Phonica Records to her renowned Jackathon parties and work with BBC Radio 1, Heidi has played an important role in shaping modern club culture.
Her longstanding connection to fabric London makes her a fitting addition to the Cape Town line-up, where she will bring her signature sound to the historic Castle of Good Hope.
Two Cities, Two Iconic Venues, One fabric London Experience
Johannesburg – fabric Takes Over Carfax
On Friday, 15 January 2027, fabric London will transform Carfax in Newtown into a destination for underground electronic music.
A cornerstone of Johannesburg’s independent creative and nightlife scene since 1995, Carfax has hosted countless cultural events and international performances.
Its industrial character and longstanding connection to the city’s music community make it an ideal setting for the fabric experience.
The Johannesburg line-up features Daniel Avery, Desiree, HAAi and Midland, with Sama’ Abdulhadi also listed among the performers in the event details. Additional local artists are expected to be announced.
For Johannesburg’s electronic music community, the event brings together an impressive collection of international talent in one of the city’s most recognisable nightlife spaces.
Cape Town – Electronic Music Meets Historic Architecture
On Saturday, 16 January 2027, fabric London heads to Cape Town’s Castle of Good Hope for the second time.
The historic 17th-century landmark will once again become the setting for an immersive electronic music experience, combining international DJ performances with large-scale visual production.
Using projection mapping, fabric’s touring visual show will illuminate the castle’s walls and courtyards, creating an atmosphere where music, architecture and technology meet.
Daniel Avery, HAAi, Heidi and Midland will headline the Cape Town event, with additional local performers still to be confirmed.
Following a sold-out event at the Castle of Good Hope last year, the 2027 edition is expected to attract significant interest from Cape Town’s electronic music community and visitors enjoying the city’s summer season.
