It’s an alfresco future for sunny South Africa this Summertime as Ocean Basket celebrates lockdown level 1 and invite diners back to their favourite seafood destination with a new seasonal menu and price points to match any pocket during this challenging year...

In case you didn’t know, September was national rice month, so Ocean Basket thought they’d introduce you to their ‘pick of the season’ sticky rice dishes. Rice is one of the most-consumed foods worldwide and it’s no wonder since the popular grain is so versatile: choose from vegetarian, fish or prawn and mussel, all dressed with crispy onion sprinkles.

Next up are their new salads:

  • The crispy falafel salad complemented with creamy versatile avocado offers an explosion of flavours and texture
  • The Greek salmon salad with avocado and feta is irresistible; this beautiful red-orange fish with its high levels of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids is the perfect Summer salad
  • The Greek whole calamari salad with feta and olives is an excellent source of nutrients and its mild flavour and firm texture make it a great accompaniment to a main meal.

Ocean Basket has worked hard to make sure they continue to offer affordable, generous portions during this challenging year and their price points on the new menu items reflect this, starting at just R59.

Worried about your safety? Ocean Basket has been instrumental in providing the restaurant industry with a free operations protocol based on global best practice and guided by the WHO: all of their restaurants have very successfully introduced international best practises with protocols that enforce social distancing, the wearing of PPEs, twice-daily temperature checks and customer registers.

These protocols are available to view:
