Children from Reach For A Dream’s Gauteng Dream Club enjoyed unforgettable supercar laps at Kyalami’s Festival of Motoring, creating moments of joy beyond their medical journeys

For one morning, the roar of supercars replaced hospital routines as Reach For A Dream gave children from its Gauteng Dream Club an unforgettable experience at the Festival of Motoring at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit with Cartrack South Africa.

The young dreamers climbed into luxury performance cars for high-speed laps around one of South Africa’s most iconic racetracks. It was a chance to leave everyday challenges behind and simply enjoy the thrill of the moment.

Supercar laps create unforgettable memories

For many of the children, the experience was about more than speed. It was an opportunity to connect with friends, laugh together and create memories that will last long after the engines fell silent.

Fourteen-year-old dreamer Mogomotsi Smith described the drive as the highlight of her day.

“The best part of my day was going in the super-fast car. The driver answered my questions with so much energy. It’s a memory I’ll keep forever.”

Eleven-year-old Mukona Radzilani shared the same excitement after stepping out of her supercar ride.

“The car was very fast. I had a good time.”

Why Reach For A Dream’s Dream Club matters

Reach For A Dream’s Dream Club creates moments of escape for children living with life-threatening illnesses. Events like the Festival of Motoring allow them to experience adventure, friendship and confidence outside their medical routines.

Natasha Mohlala, Reach For A Dream’s Gauteng team leader, said many of the children dream about supercars long before they ever see one up close.

“For many of our dreamers, owning supercars is something they dream of. The laps around the track are another dream come true. Having them connect over something they don’t see every day is a joy they’ll carry with them for a long time. We’re grateful to the Festival of Motoring for making this possible.”

Furthermore, Juan Marais, Carrack Chief of Sales said:

“At Cartrack, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to dream, experience joy and create lasting memories. Our involvement with Reach for a Dream at the Festival of Motoring is about giving vulnerable children a chance to step away from the challenges they face and enjoy a day filled with excitement, adventure and fun. Hosting these young dreamers and giving them the opportunity to experience the thrill of the track in some incredible sports cars is our way of creating a special moment where they can simply be kids, feel the exhilaration of the experience and be inspired to dream big. We will also be donating the proceeds from our hot-lap experience at the festival to Reach for a Dream, and we are proud to play a part in creating unforgettable memories for these children while encouraging them to continue reaching for their dreams.”
