Moolman Group introduce Bluewater purified water station at Ferndale on Republic Shopping Centre

In a new and refreshing move towards a sustainable future, the Moolman Group has announced the launch of the first Bluewater hydration station supplying purified water at the Ferndale on Republic Shopping Centre in Randburg. The hydration station will be available for shoppers to refill and refresh, for free, from this week.

The initiative is part of the center’s FOR Fresh campaign, building on the much-loved FOR (Ferndale on Republic) tagline, adding to the many great reasons to shop at Ferndale on Republic this spring.
“Ferndale On Republic and Bluewater’s partnership is a testament to our environmental commitment. As we approach the summer season, fresh water isn’t just a luxury; it’s a must. The addition of the Bluewater water station not only offers sustainable and healthy drinking water but also promotes a future free from the reliance on single-use plastic,” notes Francois Du Boisson, General Manager of Ferndale on Republic.

The state-of-the-art Bluewater Water Station employs Bluewater’s unique SuperiorOsmosis ™ technology, ensuring the water’s freshness and safety by eliminating contaminants that standard public water treatment often miss such as PFAS and other chemicals and microplastic particles. “This water purification station stands out from the rest with its innovative high-end design, thoughtful attention to detail, and ease of use. It is also more hygienic than traditional water fountains or coolers thanks to its hands-free operation,” says Janneke Brasecke, General Manager of Bluewater Africa.

The Refill & Refresh project is not only about water. It reflects Ferndale on Republic’s continuous dedication to environmental awareness, building on the centre’s other successful green projects, including its large recycling station, which, with the help of the community, recycles an average of 17 tons of waste every month. This is in addition to Ferndale on Republic’s solar panel project and a drive towards a more eco-friendly future.

Bluewater, celebrating its tenth anniversary, has a rich legacy of environmental contributions. With a vision to be the world’s most planet-friendly beverage company, they have consistently worked on innovative water purification technologies. Their mission is crystal clear: challenge the dominance of single-use plastic bottles and reduce the pollution caused by transporting them. “Our partnership with Ferndale on Republic is perfectly aligned with our own values.

Bluewater’s solutions have not only appealed to consumers worldwide but also to various industries like hotels, catering, events, and venues. With a footprint in Europe, the USA, the UK, China, South-East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, Bluewater is proud to have achieved numerous accolades for our sustainability efforts, including two Fast Company World Changing Ideas Awards, and a K&B Kitchen Innovation of the Year Award,” Brasecke adds.

“As we continue to evolve and innovate at Ferndale on Republic, this initiative underscores our commitment to the community we serve. Providing our shoppers with clean, sustainable water isn’t just about quenching thirst; it’s about enriching their overall experience while taking steps in the right direction towards a brighter, healthier, and more sustainable tomorrow,” says Du Boisson.
