What’s better than one beloved Joburg food personality hosting a festive cooking workshop? The answer is two dynamic Jozi bon vivants! Get ready for Jingle Bell Bites, a not-to-be-missed Christmas food feast.
Well-known cookbook author, culinary writer and food personality Hillary Biller (of The Sunday Times and formerly The Star’s Angela Day) will be joining Jan Kohler to share some of their favourite recipes.

Menu Highlights
The menu comprises:
- Spiced pear Bellini on arrival.
- Homemade gingerbread biscuits with whipped blue cheese parfait (and other cheeses) for snacking on.
- Decadent egg mousse with devilled prawns served with homemade Melba toast.
- Festive ham with Rex Union marmalade glaze.
- Moroccan-style spatchcock turkey with saffron onions, cinnamon and nuts.
- Spinach phyllo wreath.
- Smashed potatoes with rosemary.
- Grilled pineapple and red pepper salad.
- Christmas Concertina Baklava.
- Upside-down lattice mince pies.
Event Details and Booking
Jingle Bell Bites takes place on Saturday, November 8, from 10h00 to 13h30 at Kohler’s home at 14 Christopherson Road, Dunkeld. The cost is R800 a person and can be booked on Jan’s IG account @jan_kohler_cooks or email hillary.biller@outlook.com. There will be a number of cookbooks to be won on the day.
