For the first time ever, Red Bull Half Court – the world’s fastest and most dynamic streetball tournament – is coming to South Africa. This high-energy 3-on-3 basketball event will ignite local courts with fierce competition, explosive play, and a bold scoring format that rewards creativity and skill.

Over 8,000 athletes around the globe are expected to take part in the tournament, which will travel through more than 20 countries before culminating in a global final in Dubai in November 2025. Now, South African ballers have the chance to join the international stage.

More than just a tournament, Red Bull Half Court celebrates the raw passion and flair of streetball. Whether you’re playing or watching, it’s all about showing up, showing off, and owning your game. With the tournament’s signature “Own the Court” rule, the team that scores the most total points in each group can advance – even without the most wins. It’s streetball – fast, fierce, and unfiltered.

Regional Qualifiers: Mark Your Calendar

South Africa’s streetball journey begins with three regional qualifiers in key urban hotspots:

  • Cape Town – 12 July 2025

  • Durban – 26 July 2025

  • Pretoria – 23 August 2025

The top teams from each region will compete at the South African National Final on 13 September 2025 at Wits University in Johannesburg. The winners – one men’s team and one women’s team – will go on to represent South Africa at the Red Bull Half Court World Final in Dubai later this year.
