Qatar Airways is set to introduce Starlink’s cutting-edge internet connectivity on select flights between Cape Town and Doha. Passengers will enjoy a fully complimentary, ultra-fast Wi-Fi service suitable for streaming, gaming, and working seamlessly at 35,000 feet.
Starting 01 June 2025, Qatar Airways will operate a Boeing 777 on the route, complementing its existing Airbus A350 fleet as it rolls out Starlink across its Boeing 777 aircraft. The airline is also fitting its A350 fleet with Starlink, becoming the first to offer this connectivity to passengers on these aircraft types.

As the first, largest, and only carrier in the MENA region with a complimentary Starlink service, Qatar Airways offers the fastest onboard Wi-Fi. The airline, crowned World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2024, operates the largest fleet of Starlink-equipped Boeing 777s globally.
Starlink’s seamless ‘one-click-access’ enhances Qatar Airways’ award-winning onboard experience. This advancement coincides with the airline’s 20th anniversary in South Africa, reflecting its deepening ties with the region and showcasing its continuous connectivity upgrades across the continent.
With up to 28 weekly flights connecting Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg to over 170 global destinations, Qatar Airways enhances passenger experience with modern fleet services. The airline’s Africa capacity features over 44,000 weekly seats, reaching 29 cities with up to 180 flights weekly.
Qatar Airways has optimized schedules across African destinations to improve connections to Europe, China, and the Indian subcontinent through Hamad International Airport.
