Nestled within the spectacular De Hoop Nature Reserve, De Hoop Collection has introduced a three-night family package designed to help parents and children reconnect with nature while enjoying educational and entertaining outdoor experiences.
The programme combines comfortable family accommodation with a carefully curated itinerary of wildlife discovery, hands-on learning and outdoor adventure, making it one of the most exciting family holiday experiences in the Western Cape this winter.
A Winter Adventure Designed for Young Explorers
According to De Hoop Collection owner William Stephens, the programme was created to offer families a meaningful opportunity to spend quality time together in nature.
Children aged six to eleven will take part in a range of Mini Ranger activities, while younger children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Participants will receive a special animal sightings booklet and pen to record their discoveries throughout the stay.
Upon completing the programme, each child will earn an official De Hoop Mini Ranger cap and badge. Mini Ranger waistcoat vests will also be available for purchase from the reserve’s Curio Shop.

Prices start from R8,900 per family, excluding the De Hoop Conservation Holding Company fee and CapeNature gate fee.
