Giving Back: The Roedean Academy

One of the principal beneficiaries of A Blooming Affair 2025 is the Roedean Academy—a donor-funded initiative founded in 2009. In particular, the Academy provides extra academic support in Mathematics, Physical Science, English, and IT to talented girls from under-resourced schools, including Barnato Park High and Newgate College. According to organisers:

‘In 2024, the Academy’s matric class achieved an 83.3% bachelor pass rate, with the top learner earning four distinctions.’

As a result, many graduates have gone on to full university bursaries and successful careers ranging from Commerce to Culinary Arts, Medical Sciences, and Actuarial Science.

As the team adds:
