"They came out of the mist on an icy wind, and froze the blood of weaker men"

Joburg is hosting its first-ever Viking Festival entitled ‘A Viking Thing’ on 3 March at La Vue Lodge & Event Venue in Muldersdrift.

Take a trip back in time to the days when men were seriously tough, when villages were raided, mead was the tipple of choice and swords were sharp. In those halcyon days food was really good, adventure was paramount and life was a lot more fun in some respects, despite no TV, Wifi and high-tech.

Fun activities at the Festival include a Viking-themed quiz, tug of war Viking-style (called ‘toga-honk’) and numerous other exciting Viking games. The day will be filled numerous fun and unique experiences that will be enjoyed by young and old alike.

Tickets for adults are R70 at the gate, or get yours now for R50 per person from Quicket online (www.quicket.co.za). Pets and kids go free – keep those who need it on a leash at all times. Act now, as space is limited ad tickets are selling out fast. Funds raised at this event are for Team South Africa Beserkers (crazy Vikings who live in our ‘hood and are part of one of the local Historical Medieval Battle Clubs, Juggerknights or Medieval Fight Club) to head for Europe and participate on the international Full Contact Medieval Combat stage in 2018.
