Best Barbers in Joburg We have made a list of all the best barbers in Joburg – check them out….
Bar Ber Black Sheep
Located at Park Corner in Rosebank, is the brainchild of Rory Sandilands, owner of Blo salon in Parkwood and Maboneng. He wanted to create a space people felt was an authentic barber shop, but where they could also have a whisky and cigar pre- or post-shave and style. A space where patrons would just pop in after a long day for a whisky, beer, glass of wine or coffee, which would ultimately become a favourite local watering hole; a grooming shop suggestive of a man cave. Patrons have a choice of bespoke grooming services, from a quick shave or trim to an executive experience (think three hot towels, hot foam shave with all the bells and whistles), as well as all other unisex hairstyling services.

Floyd’s 99 Barbershop
Located in Fourways, Floyd’s motto is ‘Walk in. Rock out.’ At Floyd’s they mix old school quality service with modern grooming techniques in a unique, fun, high energy, rock ‘n’ roll environment. The iconic poster wall, music, cappuccinos, skilled staff and functional head-to-toe grooming all add to the complete Floyd’s experience. They like to keep things simple and offer the best quality service at an affordable price.
Freedom Hair Barbering & Coffee
The Melville cool kids flock in their droves to Boyden at Freedom Hair, an old school, barber type set-up. This quirky spot does two things damn well: hair and coffee. The idea is that you get a trendy cut, style or colour, while enjoying a kick-ass cup of coffee. And for the guys looking to cultivate a sizeable beard, this should be your first port of call for advice, whisker centric products and a trim. Boyden says, “I do outrageous cuts from the classic pompadour to the cleanest bobs, colours range from electric blue to brilliant blonds – up styles and easily manageable personalised looks just for you.”

Bonafide Barbers opened in January last year next to Urban Grind Roasters in Parkhurst. There are two barbers on hand: Morgs Price (The Sinister Barber) and Bernadette Kruger (Barber Bern), along with the newest recruit and trainee, Linwill Adams (LL) and Alex (Big Al). The barber shop specialises in men’s haircuts, hot towel shaves, beard trims, ladies’ cuts, beard grooming and even hair graffiti. Complimentary coffee from Urban Grind is offered to each and every customer or an ice-cold beer when they’re in stock. They also stock the full range of award-winning Bonafide Beard grooming products, including beard oil, beard balm, cleansing bars and beard brushes along with various other hair care products by EVO.
Located in Eldorado Park, Florida and Soweto, the brainchild behind this successful business is 28-year-old entrepreneur Sheldon Tatchell. In fact, he opened three barber shops in just two years. With a starting price of R70 for close shaves to intricate designs and fades that are “in a naat” (precise), Legends has attracted quite a following. The business is thriving and employs young barbers working from the three venues with a mobile service to boot. Celebrities like Reason, Loot Love, J’Something and Riky Rick are just some of the people who trust Sheldon with their hair. His first celebrity client was soccer player Kermit Erasmus who played for Orlando Pirates. Legends Barbershop is also working on a barber academy that will offer in-house training and a job as a barber at the end of the course.
